Whats on this Week in Bournemouth

Bournemouth has one of the best beaches in the UK, 7 miles of glorious sand and sea!  Its a town filled with beautiful Victorian architecture and known for a buzzing nightlife.

Shrek the Musical – From Wednesday 20th to Saturday 23rd.
Based on the Oscar-winning animation film, Shrek The Musical is the Tony Award-winning adventure-filled musical brought to you by the highly acclaimed, Swish of the Curtain.

An unlikely hero, the big, green and ugly Ogre finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside the wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her dramatic rescue. Featuring memorable songs, a side splitting script and slick choreography, the beloved characters from the original film are brought to life in this fabulously fresh storybook journey.

Live Jazz at The Dean Park Inn – Monday 18th, start time 8:30pm.

Come along for a relaxed Jazz Night at this popular local pub. Every week there is a ever changing line up of acts. Regular artists include: Ian Ellis Quintet, The Same Beat, Veronique Jolie, Sarah Bolter, Richie Quain, John Lloyd, Mick Hanson, Andy Urquhart, Zoe Schwarz & Rob Koral, Wendy Allen, Julie Lewis and many more.

Light Up Poole: A Festival of Light – From Thursday 21st to Saturday 23rd.

Take a visit to Poole for this amazing digital light art festival. As the day turns to night, Poole will provide a dramatic backdrop to series of interactive digital Light Art installations designed to inspire, delight and enchant residents & visitors. Both emerging and International artists will showcase their ground-breaking work in a celebration of Poole’s cultural diversity, rich heritage and unique location in partnership with leading cultural organisations.

An Evening with The Hairy Bikers – Thursday 21st

National Treasures Si and Dave, aka The Hairy Bikers have announced a huge nationwide tour for 2019 taking in over 36 dates between February and April, with one night in Poole. With their irresistible enthusiasm, An Evening With The Hairy Bikers will be an epic night of cooking and conversation.

 “It’s been nearly twenty years of adventure and mayhem around the globe and this is our chance to share our stories, tales and fails that will make you laugh out loud and move your heart to a tear. We’ve written twenty books, filmed countless series and been around the world more times than Phileas Fogg. The coastal comedy show with tv headliner bobby mair! – Friday 22nd.

The Coastal Comedy shows are known to be hilarious nights out and this show will be no exception!

Bobby Mair is a Canadian stand-up comedian based in London. After he won the Laughing Horse New Act of The Year competition in 2012 his comedy career took right off! He has recently starred in the reality sitcom Bobby and Harriet Get Married for Viceland. He is also appearing on the upcoming Comedy Central’s Roast Battle and in February is embarking on a 26 city tour of the UK culminating in 3 nights at Soho Theatre.

Football fan? Then come and watch the Cherries in action….AFC Bournemouth V Wolverhampton Wanders with a 15:00 Kick Off at the Vitality Stadium.
